So I get to approximately 92 percent of this book and the author writes WW 1 ended on November 11th, 1914. I immediately stopped and decided to write this review. I can't understand why they overlooked this major blunder. This has happened before. I've read almost all the Hourly History books and I enjoy them. However, I can't understand why this blunder was not caught when it was proofread. These types of mistakes need to be corrected before publishing.

I barley know about Andrew Carneige. This is a short book. It kept me interested. Glad I read it.

Reading any of this book series are well worth your time.
Easy, informative, an amazing man. We need more men like Andrew Carnegie.

In chapter 9 you write that the World War ended on November 11, 1914. I believe it was 1918.
This is a competent glimpse of an amazing man - from virtual pauper to the richest man.
There are some details of his hugely successful venture into steel production - but no details about how/where the raw products came from.
His business acumen was remarkable - and having the 'luck' to take advantage of being in the right place at the right time....!
This book is a great summary of Andrew Carnegie's life. It is worthwhile reading for young minds and others who are interested in the possibilities that lie within us all.
